Barbara Ellison
I have had my own premises since 1999 when I joined the British Horse Society Instructors Register. I have trained with Heike Holstein, Conrad Schumacher and Anky Van Grunsven. I have experience in the Dutch, German and British Horse Society system of training.

I started teaching in Milbridge Riding Centre in Comber in 1995. This was when I was jumping Carlies Lady. I then went on to manage a livery yard in Killinchy. I then taught at Lessons Riding School. While working there I was advised to pursue dressage. At Carlies Ladys first show she was 3rd which qualified her for the NI Finals. At these finals we obtained 5th at our 2nd dressage show. From that I worked and trained with Yvette Truesdale; I loved my time there particularly working with the wonderful Jaywalker - I then moved to the Netherlands to train and work for Anky Van Grunsven and at that stage Salinero was there as a schooling livery in my charge. I loved working with Bonfire and all the other amazing superstar horses there but Salinero was the horse I would have loved to have brought home with me!!!

I have extensive experience with horses with behavioural problems transforming many different types of horses into safe successful horses - for example turning race horses into dressage horses.

After returning to County Down, I purchased Jaydancer by Jaywalker and in 2003 I purchased Felina as a 2 year old.
I have subsequently trained horses from 2 years old upwards, from Prelim to Grand Prix.

Qualifications - Sports Psychology
I qualified in sports psychology in 2008. These days people have heard of sports psychology but most people believe it is a new thing. Believe it or not, sports psychology techniques were first used in 1890 with Melbourne Olympics in 1960 being the first Olympics when athletes attended with a sports psychologist on their team!

From my experience, I have been elated with the success of my clients to date. I have experience with racing drivers, motorcycle racers and all equestrian sports.
